August attends Girls Inc. Summer Camp every single year. As a bright and vibrant young woman, she always looks forward to a summer of fun with her friends and staff. When school transitioned to online programming, she was devastated to think that there was a possibility that Girls Inc. would not host Summer Camp 2020 due to COVID-19.

To save summer for girls like August, Girls Inc. of Central Alabama set a goal of raising $5,000 on Giving Tuesday Now. Our supporters leapt to the challenge, and helped us reach our goal within the first five hours! By the end of the day, we had received over 135% of our goal!

August was thrilled that her summer had been saved! To celebrate, she had her mother conduct a photoshoot by our mural.

August’s beautiful smile says it all. Let’s all take a moment to celebrate the little victories, like the joy of a girl whose summer has been saved.
