BE A VOLUNTEER

Whether they’re presenting a class, passing out a snack bag, or just chaperoning a field trip, our volunteers are the BEST! We have so many ways that you can help make a positive impact in a girl’s life. Take your experience, passions, and skills to help us reach our mission to inspire every girl to be STRONG, SMART, and BOLD!

How To Volunteer

  1. Complete an online application
  2. Take part in a volunteer interview & tour of our Crestwood Center
  3. Complete and pass our background check process
  4. Participate in a quick volunteer orientation &

Current Volunteer Opportunities

Crestwood Center

  • Program Assistant: Assist program facilitators with curriculum and classroom management
  • “Read with Me” Literacy Participant: Engage 1st & 2nd Grade Members in reading and literacy
  • Special Programs: Lead or assist with an activity that interests you (soccer, sewing, piano, gardening, photography, etc.)
  • Gardening Club: Assist AmeriCorps members with facilitating activities surrounding our new garden
  • Front Desk Assistant: Check girls in and out; Greet parents and visitors; Answer phone calls

Empowerment Center

  • Program Assistant: Support Program Manager with daily needs and classroom control
  • Event Chaperone: Assist with transport, member supervision, and other needs for enrichment field trips
  • Food Bank Assistant: Assist with on-site needs for Center’s Food Bank duties and assist with pantry distribution
  • Food Bank Prep: Assist Program Manager and Girls Inc. staff with preparing food pantry kits after inventory is delivered

Eureka Program

  • Speaker: Lecture, lead an activity, or lead the girls on STEM-focused field trip
  • Event Aid: Gather needed materials; Serve dinner
  • Summer Camp Assistant: Monitor and spend time with the girls during lunch hour; Lead/participate in recreational sports; assist staff with summer programming

Teen Leadership Program

  • Event Aid: Gather needed materials; Serve dinner
  • Chaperone: Assist and attend college tours with program participants & staff
  • Office Aid: Coordinate activities with parents; Send out emails; Prep supplies to be used during school visits; Complete administrative tasks
  • Special Events: Assist program staff with Teen Summit in April.

Seasonal

  • Cajun Cook-Off: Assist with set up and day of needs for our annual fundraiser on April 4th.
  • Summer Camps: Assist with set up/clean up, field trips, program facilitation, and other needed areas
  • The Giving Tree: Assist with organizing and wrapping donated gifts
